Join us on Saturday, October 6th from 10am-6pm at The River Community Church in Ventura, CA (map) for a free training event for all kids and youth pastors, leaders and teams. Lunch is provided for all in attendance.
The camp leaders 1-day event is a free training event for all kids and youth pastors, leaders and teams. There will be a time where we will discuss the vision for 2019 kids and youth camps. Additionally, we will be welcoming speakers who will discuss relevant topics that relate to serving our NextGen students well.
dr. dennis easter
Dennis Easter is the District Supervisor of the Southern California District of Foursquare Churches. He brings to this role a rich history of over forty years in ministry within Foursquare and a commitment to help bring about release and resourcing of the leaders and churches for a future filled with great promise. Dennis received his Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.) degree from George Fox University in Leadership and Spiritual Formation, where his dissertation research focused on Empowered Coaching. He and his wife, Patsy, have been married for 48 years and they have four adult children and ten grandchildren.
Ashton Fish grew up as a pastor’s son in Mojave, Ca. At the age of 12 he completely surrendered his life to Jesus Christ at a youth summer camp at Camp Cedar Crest, CA. Ashton recorded his first demo CD at 18 and leads worship for conferences, camps, and churches. When Ashton was 19 years old he was appointed as the High Desert District’s Youth Coordinator and youth pastor at The Highlands Christian Fellowship in Palmdale, CA. He then directed camps and served under the Pacific Coast and Valleys district as a volunteer.
Ashton has his Biblical Studies and Leadership degree at LIFE Pacific College. He is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity from Portland Seminary. Ashton also serves as the NextGen Director for the Southern California District of Foursquare Churches where he plans camps and assists over 140 churches in youth, kids and young adult ministry. Ashton married the love of his life, Tori, in August 2015 and they live in Ventura Beach.
Sarah Harrington was born and raised in the Midwest. After graduating from Loyola University-Chicago she moved to Southern California. She is passionate about people, building healthy families and social justice. Sarah has pursued these passions while working at children's and youth camps for the last 10 years and currently works as the Children's Ministry Director at Vintage Faith Foursquare. She believes in meeting people where they are and doing life alongside each other to help bring a little piece of the kingdom here to Southern California.
A Southern California girl, born and raised, Jennifer Thigpenn has spent most of her life in the church. The daughter of pastors, Jennifer was called to ministry as an 8-year-old at Camp Cedar Crest and has spent her life following that call in the areas of worship, NextGen ministries and administration. Jennifer received her B.A. in Music from Azusa Pacific University in 2009 and her Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2014.
For the past 2 years, Jennifer has been working with special education students in a local school district and has spent the last 4 years as administrative support for SoCAL district camps. She is currently working at the SoCAL District Office as a Project Coordinator and is the Children’s Pastor at Life Church in Lancaster, CA. Jennifer has a passion to disciple the next generation and desires to help influence and shape leaders both inside and outside the walls of the church. She loves travel and is rarely seen without a cup of coffee.
Tori Fish lives in Ventura, CA with her handsome husband Ashton Fish. Tori and Ashton have been married for three years and have no idea where they will be three years from now. They do know they will be together and still going to the movies on discount Tuesdays. Tori is in her last semester of her undergraduate degree at a Cal State. She is studying psychology and pretty much just analyzing everyone she comes in contact with. Tori and Ashton don’t have any children but when they talk about getting a dog it’s between a great dane or a dachshund. Ashton and Tori work for ICFG SoCal District. Ashton works with NextGen leaders while Tori assists people going through the pastoral license process.
